Fishball Noodles

Lai Hin Fish Ball Kway Teow Mee is a popular stall that dishes out really nice fishball noodles with the usual choice of noodles in. Shown here are with mee pok and mee kia.

Both the mee pok and mee kia are springy and uses a vinegar based seasoning with some bean sprouts added. Its vinegar taste is not overpowering, and is quite nicely balanced. Tastes good with the lard pieces added.

The bowl of noodles comes with quite a bit of ingredients including: fishballs, fish cake slices, fish dumplings, pork slices and minced meat bits. Both the fishball and fish cake has a nice savoury taste that is not too salty, and the fishball has a nice springy texture. The fish dumpling is good too, with a nice smooth texture and I can actually taste the meaty bits inside. Very nice! Also, the noodles comes with a small bowl of soup on the side. It has nice light flavours and does not taste way too salty. I’m sure the soup version of this noodles would taste good with this soup.

This fishball noodles is truly enjoyably and quite a good hearty meal. I am sure the snaking line of people queuing for this tasty noodles probably agrees with me on this.
