Ngo Hiang

Huat Soon Fried Ngoh Hiang Prawn Fritter serves a wide selection of ngo hiang options. Featured above are their crispy prawn fritter, prawn cake, ngo hiang, prawn roll and fish cake. Additionally, an optional side of fried mee hoon, as well as dipping sauces are also available.

The crispy prawn fritter has a light, airy and crispy batter containing tiny crispy prawns. The prawn cake, meanwhile, has a soft and savoury-tasting dough containing some bean sprouts and topped with a large piece of prawn. It is then deep fried to a nice crisp.

The handmade ngo hiang has a soft and flavourful meaty filling containing some crunchy water chestnut bits, rolled inside a slightly crispy fried skin. Similarly, the prawn roll features a soft meaty filling with savour flavours and bits of prawn. The flavourful handmade fish cake combines some chopped spring onions and chilli bits with its soft and smooth fish paste, and deep fried to a crisp.

The optional side of fried mee has a nice dry texture and pleasant flavours. The sweet sauce provided is not the usual starchy type, but is the ones used for yong tau foo, and it is watery and sweet. The chilli sauce has a hint of limey note within its spiciness, pairing really well with the ngo hiang pieces.

This serving of ngo hiang is enjoyable. The crispy prawn fritters are especially good and highly recommended!
