Soya Sauce Chicken

Sheng Ji Soya Sauce Chicken Rice Noodle is a rather popular stall selling soya sauce chicken with either rice or noddles. Shown here is their soya sauce chicken noodles with extra dumplings added.

The soya sauce chicken slices has moist meat with smooth savoury tasting skin. Quite nice. The noodles are springy with a mild alkaline taste. However the soya sauce based seasoning helps cover up this taste with nice soya sauce flavours. Comes with some vegetables and lard pieces.

The dumplings has soft skin with nicely flavoured minced meat filling that contains some water chestnut bits and with a hint of Chinese rice wine flavours. It is nice. As for the soup, it has a nice savoury flavour that tastes of ikan bilis. Like.

Wanton Mee

Sheng Ji Soya Sauce Chicken Rice Noodle also sells wanton mee. Instead of soya sauce chicken slices, char siew slices are given.

The char siew slices are the lean meat type. It is quite tender with a mildly sweet taste. The noodles are the same as the soya sauce chicken noodles, springy with a mild alkaline taste and a nicely flavoured soya sauce based seasoning. Comes with some vegetables and lard.

As for the wanton, it is similar to the dumplings. Soft wanton skin wrapping up a nice savoury tasting minced meat filling with some water chestnut bits. Comes in a bowl of ikan bilis flavoured soup. Nice.
