Yong Tau Foo.

Yixin Yong Tau Foo & Lok Lok serves a variety of yong tau foo with a choice of noodles.

The fried fish roll has a crispy skin wrapping a springy fish paste. The tau pok is crispy with a springy fish paste filling. The fried tofu is soft with a chewy fried skin. The flat fish cake is springy and savoury with a smooth tau kee skin. The tau kee is soft and smooth with a springy fish paste, and the teochew fish cake is fairly smooth and springy. The fried dumpling has a crispy skin wrapping a savoury flavourful meaty filling. The bean curd is normal with a soft fish paste filling.

The yong tau foo soup has pleasant savoury flavours, and topped with crispy fried garlic bits. An optional dried shrimp flavoured chilli paste and sweet sauce is also provided on the side. A laksa version is also available. The laksa gravy is mildly spicy with strong coconut milk flavours.

The yong tau foo soup tastes not bad, while the laksa version is decent.
