Double Fish Soup

Xiao Yu Cun Fish Soup serves the regular selection of fish soups and seafood soups. Shown above is their double fish soup with yee mee. This double fish soup comes with both sliced fish and fried fish meat. It is topped with fried egg (extras added), and some fried shallots.

The sliced fish is smooth and soft. It is nice and rather likeable. The fried fish is meaty and savoury tasting. However it is not crispy and is soft. The fried egg is not crispy either and is rather ordinary. It tastes better when soaked with the soup though. Personally I think the sliced fish is better here, and don’t bother with adding extras for the fried egg.

As for the soup, it is nicely flavoured. The yee mee itself is your regular supermarket ones. It comes with some vegetables and tomato slices.

This double fish yee mee is actually quite decent, and the sliced fish is rather likeable.
