Dry Chilli Ban Mian

Madam Leong Traditional Ban Mian serves ban mian using freshly made noodles on the spot at the time of your order. Seen above is their dry chilli ban mian. This bowl of ban mian comes with minced meat, meatballs, tau kee, and fried egg. It is topped with some ikan bilis and some of their signature dry chilli. Comes served with a bowl of light savoury tasting soup on the side.

The minced meat is soft and meaty with lightly savoury flavours. Likewise for the meatball, it is soft and meaty with nice savoury flavours. The tau kee is firm and flavourful, and the fried egg has nice runny yolk and crispy sides. The ikan bilis is crispy and not too salty. As for the handmade ban mian, it is firm and springy, and tossed in a nicely flavoured black sauce seasoning. Everything is tasty so far.

The star is actually their signature dry chilli. It is very flavourful with strong dried shrimp flavours. It is spicy with a hint of savoury, and contains real pieces of dried shrimp! This is so good….

This serving of dry chilli ban mian is absolutely lovely and truly enjoyable. One word. Good!
