Wanton Mee

Hong Ji Traditional Wanton Noodle offers a selection of wanton mee. Above is their wanton mee with both soup and fried wanton, as well as soup dumplings.

The plate of tossed noodles comes with slices of lean meat char siew, fried wanton and some vegetables. The tossed noodles is firm and springy with a savoury tasting seasoning sauce and some crispy pork lard. The char siew, although lean, is soft and meaty with a slight sweet taste. The fried wanton has crispy skin and a slightly savoury tasting meat filling.

A bowl of nice ikan bilis flavoured soup containing wanton and dumplings is served on the side. The wanton has soft skin with a nice savoury flavoured meat filling. Likewise for the dumpling, soft skin with nicely seasoned filling of meat and prawn bits.

This plate of wanton mee is rather likeable.

Siu Yuk & Dumpling Noodle

Besides wanton mee, a selection of siu yuk noodles is available as well. Above is their siu yuk noodles with dumplings.

The siu yuk is firm and meaty with crispy skin, and it isn’t overly salty. The tossed noodles is firm and springy with nice seasoning flavours. A bowl of ikan bilis flavoured soup with dumplings is served on the side. The dumpling has soft skin with flavourful meat and prawn filling.

This serving of siu yuk noodles is nice and likeable too. Thumbs up.
