Popiah

Hai Ji serves popiah that has a soft chewy skin, wrapping a moist and flavourful filling. As far as I can tell, the filling includes radish, carrot, egg bits, bean sprouts, a piece of lettuce and a slice of lap cheong. The popiah has mild flavours of dried shrimps and a slightly sweet taste. Interestingly, I have not come across lap cheong in a popiah for over a decade or two, and I thought it was extinct. This popiah tastes wonderful to me. In my opinion, this is much better than the other more famous popiah stall in the nearby neighbourhood. Two thumbs up!

Rojak

The rojak picture above includes an additional slice of cuttlefish, which is chewy and has a nice savoury taste. This dish comes with an array of ingredients, including slices of juicy and sweet pineapple, crunchy and refreshing apple and pear slices, and slices of crunchy and juicy cucumber. Air fried pieces of crispy you tiao and tau pok are added to the mix, along with some bean sprouts. These are tossed in a watery rojak sauce, coating every piece with a flavourful rojak sauce that is not too sweet and has a hint of lime. The rojak is served with grated peanuts added as toppings. I like it!

Muah Chee

The muah chee is soft, chewy and a little sticky, with its small pieces coated in crunchy and slightly sweet tasting grated peanuts. It is not bad.
