Fried Kway Teow

Riverside Good Food does 2 types of fried kway teow, the regular ones and the white teochew style ones.

Their teochew fried white kway teow is especially good. Kway teow and a small amount of yellow noodles stir fried with eggs and bean sprouts. Contains prawns, see hum, sliced fish cake and sliced lap cheong. It is served with a dash of fresh green lime squeezed on to it and topped with freshly chopped chinese parsley and generous amounts of crispy pork lard bits. Very nice! Highly recommended!

As for their regular fried kway teow, it is similar to their teochew fried white kway teow. A kway teow and yellow noodles mix is stir fried with eggs and bean sprouts with prawns, see hum, sliced fish cake and sliced lap cheong added. Black sweet sauce is added giving this a slightly sweet flavour. The fried kway teow is a bit lumpy but still tastes nice.

Both versions have nice wok hei. Personally I prefer the white ones over the regular black ones. Go give this a try, I’m sure you’d like it.

Fried Hokkien Mee

The fried hokkien mee served here is nice too. The fried hokkien mee is the wet type and it comes with decently sized prawns, slices of soft sotong pieces and springy fish cake slices. The mixture of yellow noodles and thick mee hoon is wok fried with eggs, bean sprouts and some vegetables and simmered in a broth. The yellow noodles are a bit soft but soaks up the flavourful broth. A dash of green lime juice is added and the fried hokkien mee is topped with fried shallots and crispy pork lard. This fried hokkien mee is quite enjoyable.

Fried Oyster Omelette

Riverside Good Food also serves really good fried oyster omelette teochew style. The eggs are pan-fried with starch and oysters until they are very crispy, with crispy pork lard bits and Chinese parsley added. A dipping chilli sauce is served together on the side. Absolutely lovely! Both thumbs up!
