Curry Rice

115 Ho Chiak Scissors Cut Curry Rice does hainanese curry rice with a selection f mains and sides. Seen above are their pork chop, potato and fried egg curry rice and curry chicken drumstick, bean sprouts and fried egg curry rice respectively.

Plain white rice is used here. Its texture is a bit soft. The rice is drenched in a mixture of curry sauce and braised sauce. Slightly spicy flavours with a note of sweet. The rice and sauces tastes decent.

The pork chop has a nice crispy coating with meaty meat. Flavours are decent. The curry chicken drumstick is meaty with fairly smooth meat, and soft smooth skin. However it is kind of blend and there is no curry taste in its meat nor skin. The pork chop is definitely better here.

As for the sides, the bean sprouts is crunchy with decent flavourings. The potato cubes are lightly fried but still soft and no crisp at all. It has a slightly sweet taste. Just average and skippable. The fried egg is also just ordinary, no watery yolk and no crispy whites.

Overall this curry rice is quite an ordinary one. It is still fairly decent if you choose the right mains and sides though.
