Fried Rice.

The kampung fried rice has a pleasant firm texture with a blend of mildly spicy, sweet, savoury flavours and a hint of wok hei. It has slivers of egg, bean sprouts, chopped chilli, spring onions, prawns and pork slices. The pork is quite tender and meaty, while the prawns are rather small in size but fairly fresh-tasting. An optional fried egg can be added to it.

The salted fish fried rice contains tiny bits of slightly crispy and savoury-tasting salted fish, accompanied with pork and prawns. The fried rice has a nice firm and dry texture. It is flavourful with subtle hints of wok hei. Quite likeable.

Mui Fan.

The mui fan features prawns, fish cake slices, pork slices, egg and vegetables cooked in a starchy and rather flavourful sauce. The sauce is drenched on to a plate of rice. It tastes not bad too.

Fried Hokkien Mee.

The fried hokkien mee is the wet type, with a nicely flavoured broth. The mixture of thick mee hoon and yellow noodles is springy and has a nice savoury taste with a subtle note of wok hei. Some bean sprouts, egg and spring onions are included in wok-fried noodle mixture, with prawns and pork slices added. The pork is firm and meaty, while the prawns are small sized but fairly fresh. A very spicy chilli sauce and a piece of green lime are provided on the side.

This plate of fried hokkien mee tastes nice.
