Fried Hokkien Mee.

The fried hokkien mee has a mixture of thick mee hoon and yellow noodles wok-fried with egg, bean sprouts, spring onions and crispy pork lard. The mixture is then simmered in a broth with prawns, sotong and pork belly added.

The fried hokkien mee has a wet texture. The prawns are of decent size and freshness. The sotong is small with a firm and chewy texture. The pork belly is soft and meaty with some fatty parts. Half a piece of green lime and an optional savory chili paste is provided on the side.

This plate of fried hokkien mee tastes just alright, and quite unremarkable.

Fried Carrot Cake.

The fried carrot cake features longish cubes of springy radish cake, pan-fried with eggs and chye poh. The white version has nice flavours, and is both slightly charred and slightly crispy. The black version has black sauce added, giving it mildly sweet and mildly savoury flavours, and a moist texture. It is slightly charred but is not crispy. Both fried carrot cake are topped with chopped spring onions and tastes decent. Personally I prefer the white ones as it has a slight crispiness to it.

Fried Kway Teow.

The fried kway teow consists of a mixture of kway teow and yellow noodles wok-fried with egg, bean sprouts and spring onions. See hum, fish cake slices and lap cheong slices are included.

The see hum is plump and juicy, the fish cake is springy, and the lap cheong is firm and sweet. The fried kway teow has smooth kway teow and springy noodles, containining crispy pork lard and crunchy garlic bits. It has both savoury and sweet notes, and tastes decent.
