Nasi Lemak

River Valley Nasi Lemak offers multiple nasi lemak sets and a variety of sides. See above: their nasi lemak with fried chicken wing, otah, egg omelette, flat fish cake, begedil and ikan bilis peanuts.

The fried chicken wing is somewhat skinny and a bit dry, but it is crispy and meaty with pretty decent flavours. The otah has a nice firmness to it and is quite flavourful with nice fish flavours and a note of spiciness. The egg omelette is made very thinly, almost paper thin. The flat fish cake is firm and has nice flavours. The begedil has a decently flavoured soft potato filling, however its egg coating is soft and no longer crispy. The ikan bilis is crispy, and the peanuts are crunchy.

These are served with a fairly flavourful rice that has a nice firm texture. A dollop of savoury tasting chilli paste and a slice of cucumber are provided on the side.

Overall, this serving of nasi lemak tastes decent.
