Lor Mee

Soon Heng Food Delights is one of the few stalls that serves lor mee with fried shark meat nuggets. This lor mee comes with fried shark meat nuggets, fried dumplings, fried ngo hiang slices, fried chicken meat ball, pieces of braised fish meat and half a slice of braised boiled egg. These are served in a bowl of thick yellow noodles and bean sprouts, drenched with braised sauce and topped with some chopped garlic, chopped chilli, and chilli paste.

The fried shark meat nuggets are has a nice crispy batter outside and soft moist fishy meat inside with a nice savoury taste. The fried dumpling is crispy and airy with nicely flavoured meat filling. Likewise for the ngo hiang slices, deep fried very crispy that it is almost like crispy fried flour. I like these and I should have been greedy and added extras.

The fried chicken meat ball is fairly decent too. Mild cripsy outside, meaty and soft inside. The pieces of braised fish meat has nice braised flavours but they are a bit dry though. The braised boiled egg has nice braised flavours too. As for the braised sauce itself, it is not too thick, not too watery either and not too salty. Very nicely balanced. I quite like this lor mee.
