Wanton Mee

Soon Heng Handmade Noodle serves wanton mee with the usual char siew slices and both fried and soup wanton.

The slices of char siew are lean, soft and meaty with a smokey and sweet taste. Nice! The fried wanton has crispy skin and soft meaty filling. The soup wanton has soft skin wrapping a soft, meaty and flavourful filling that contains some crunchy water chestnut bits. Both the types of wanton dumplings are rather large in size too. They are likeable. Full disclosure: as they were closing for the day, I was given an extra piece of their lovely wanton on the house.

The soup wanton are served in a bowl of ikan bilis flavoured soup. The tossed noodles has decent seasoning flavours and is fairly firm and springy. Some vegetables are served together with the noodles.

This serving of wanton mee is rather hearty and likeable, especially their large and flavourful wanton. Add extra wanton if you can. It is nice.
