Yong Tau Foo.

Yan Kee Yong Tau Foo offers a range of yong tau foo pieces served with a choice of noodles, mee hoon or rice. Shown above is an assortment of yong tau foo served with mee hoon. An optional sweet sauce and chilli sauce is provided on the side.

The teochew fish cake is decently smooth and soft, and the tau pok is firm with a springy fish paste. These are served together with mee hoon in a bland-tasting soup.

The fried yong tau foo pieces are refried for a crispy texture, which is a nice touch. The tau kee is crispy, and so is the tau kee with fish paste. The otah fish cake is springy with decent flavours and a mild note of spiciness. However, all the deep fried yong tau foo pieces are overly oily and dripping with oil.

This serving of yong tau foo tastes just average.
