Review: Yu Kee Duck Rice (Singapore)

Braised Duck Rice

Yu Kee Duck Rice serves braised duck rice with slices of boneless braised duck meat stacked on a plate of brown braised rice. Some braised peanuts, half a braised egg, some braised tofu and salted vegetables are included. The plate of duck rice comes served with a bowl of soup and chilli paste.

The braised duck is soft, moist and meaty with decently soft skin and nice braised flavours. The braised peanuts is soft and sweet with nice braised flavours as well. The braised tofu and braised egg, on the other hand, tastes quite ordinary.

The braised rice is quite fragrant and firm with a nice hint of braised flavours. As for the soup, slightly sweet tasting and nice braised flavours too. The chilli paste, too, has a nice sweet taste and matches the duck really well.

This is quite a likeable serving of braised duck rice. Tastes decent.
