Fried Carrot Cake

Yuan Cheng Carrot Cake is quite a popular stall selling fried carrot cake with the usual choice of white or black. The fried carrot cake here is pan fried to a nice crisp with chye poh and eggs added. Its flavourings are nice too, just mildly savoury with a tint of optional chilli.

For the white version, you can actually taste some mildly charred taste of wok hei. Very nice! The black version has the usual sweet black sauce added, giving it a sweet flavour. Still retains some crispiness even with the black sauce added. However its sweet tastes covers up any hints of wok hei.

Both versions are nice in their own ways and very likeable. Definitely a pretty good fried carrot cake.
