Fried Carrot Cake

Maxwell Wah Soon Kei sells the usual black and white versions of fried carrot cake. Seen above is their yuan yang fried carrot cake which comes with both black and white versions.

The fried carrot cake uses longish radish cubes with decent amounts of chye poh added. The white version is pan fried with eggs in a pancake form. Nice flavours but unfortunately not crispy. The black version has sweet black sauce added, giving it slightly sweet flavours. Nice flavours from the added chye poh too, with some pockets of crispiness.

This is a decent fried carrot cake. Personally I prefer the black version here over the white.

Fried Oyster Omelette

Besides fried carrot cake, fried oyster omelette is available here as well. This fried oyster omelette is nicely flavoured with pan fried oysters added to a egg and starch mixture topped with some chopped spring onions. The eggs and starch mixture are pan fried with soft chewy starchy parts, but not crispy though. Comes with a limey tasting chilli sauce that goes well with the oysters. Although this fried oyster omelette isn’t the crispy type, its flavours are rather nice.
