Ahjuma Econ Bee Hoon

Fried Mee Hoon

The usual choice of fried mee hoon, fried noodles and fried kway teow is available here.

The plate of fried mee hoon above has hot dog, fried egg, chicken nugget and bean sprouts chosen as sides. Both the hot dog and chicken nugget are pretty normal. The fried egg has soft yolk and crispy whites. The bean sprouts is moist and crunchy with nice smokey flavours of wok hei. As for the fried mee hoon, it has a dry texture with some bean sprouts. The fried mee hoon has nice flavourings with a tint of smokey wok hei taste. Very nice!

The fried noodles and fried kway teow above has a piece of fish fillet added on as an extra. The fish fillet is rather ordinary and is not crispy. However, both the fried noodles and fried kway teow has nice flavours. Just like the fried mee hoon, it has a tint of smokey wok hei. Comes with some bean sprouts.

All 3 are good choices. I like their wok hei.

Fried Hokkien Mee

Ahjuma Econ Bee Hoon: Fried Hokkien Mee with Fish Cake

On top of the usual fried mee hoon, fried noodles and fried kway teow, fried hokkien mee is also available as an option. Seen above is with a piece of fish cake added.

This fried hokkien mee has a mixture of yellow noodles and thick mee hoon with eggs and some bean sprouts. It has a nice dry texture, is springy and nicely flavoured. A spicy and sweet tasting chilli sauce is provided on the side. As for the added fish cake, it is firm and springy with a nice savoury taste.

This serving of fried hokkien mee is decently nice too.

Nasi Lemak

Ahjuma Econ Bee Hoon: Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken Wing, Fried Egg, Chicken Nugget, Ikan Bilis & Peanuts

Ahjuma Econ Bee Hoon also serves nasi lemak. Their nasi lemak set comes with a peice of fried chicken wing, fried egg, chicken nugget, ikan bilis and peanuts.

The rice is fairly fragrant and flavourful. The fried chicken wing has nice seasoning flavours, has moist meat and a slightly crispy batter. The ikan bilis is crispy and the peanuts is cruncy, though can taste that both are getting soft. The fried egg has soft yolk and crispy whites, and the chicken nugget is rather ordinary. A spicy and sweet tasting chilli sauce is served on the side.

This plate of nasi lemak is quite a decent one. Personally I find their wok hei tinted fried mee hoon a better choice.
