Lor Mee

Man Xiang Lor Mee does several variations of lor mee. Above is their deluxe lor mee which comes with a bit of everything – braised pork, fish meat, ngo hiang, meatball, fish roll and half a braised egg. These are served with thick yellow noodles and some bean sprouts in a thick, starchy and flavourful braised sauce that has a mild note of sweet.

The braised pork has nice braised flavours, is soft and meaty with some some fatty parts. The chunks of fish meat is soft and flavourful, and the portions with fish skin attached has a nice crisp. The meatball has a mild crisp outside with soft, juicy and meaty insides. The ngo hiang is similar to the meatball and has nice meaty flavours. The fish roll is soft and springy with nice flavours of fish. As for the braised egg, it has nice braised flavourings too. You can also add minced garlic and a dried shrimp flavoured chilli paste to this bowl of lor mee according to your personal likings.

All in all, this bowl of lor mee is really enjoyable. I like it!
