The fishball is soft and smooth with a pleasant fish flavour. Both the teochew fish cake and flat fish cake are firm and springy. The fish roll is firm, and the tau pok has a soft and smooth fish paste filling. The fried wanton has a firm and meaty filling with a soft fried skin. All these yong tau foo pieces are served in a bowl of lightly flavoured soup containing soft soya beans. An optional sweet sauce and chilli sauce is available for added flavours.
