Prawn Mee

Chan’s Delights Prawn Noodle serves a range of prawn mee in soup or dry versions with choice of noodles. As seen above, is a bowl of their prawn mee soup version with yellow noodles and kway teow chosen, and a bowl of deep fried prawn mee dry version with yellow noodles chosen.

The bowl of prawn mee soup has a springy mixture of yellow noodles and kway teow together with some vegetables and bean sprouts. These are accompanied by slices of smooth and springy fish cake, slices of firm and meaty pork and a couple of decently sized and fairly fresh tasting prawns. Everything is served in a bowl of rich and flavourful prawn soup. Not bad.

The deep fried prawn mee dry version features slices of fish cake, pork slices and deep fried prawns coated in a crispy batter. The deep fried prawns used are of the ordinary supermarket type. The springy yellow noodles is tossed in a chilli sauce with a strong taste of chilli powder. It comes with some vegetables and bean sprouts. The bowl of noodles is complemented by some crispy pork lard and fried shallots toppings, as well as a small bowl of flavourful prawn soup on the side. This tastes rather decent. However, I personally prefer the regular version which uses fresher tasting prawns.
