Fried Hokkien Mee

Hainan Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee is a popular stall dishing out fried hokkien mee. This plate of fried hokkien mee comes with prawns and sotong slices wok fried in a mixture of yellow noodles, mee hoon, bean sprouts and eggs.

The sotong slices are quite soft and the prawns are decent. The mixture of fried yellow noodles and mee hoon is quite springy and has a nice dry texture. It is flavourful too. As far as I can tell, there is no lard and no pork belly slices in this fried hokkien mee. Served on the sides are a piece of green lime and some chopped red chilli with a nice dried shrimp flavoured sambal.

This plate of fried hokkien mee is quite likeable.
