Wanton Mee

Hwa Heng Kei does charcoal roasted meats. Their signature wanton mee shown here is especially good.

This plate of noodles has a nice springy texture. It uses a black sauce seasoning that has mild smokey and sweet flavours. Very nice! The slices of fatty char siew are almost all fats with just tiny bits of meaty parts. It has a nice sweet taste and the meaty parts are tender. Definitely good. It comes with a bowl of wanton dumplings on the side. The wanton has soft skin and its meat fillings has a hint of rice wine taste. These dumplings come in a small bowl of nicely flavoured soup.

This is definitely one of the best wanton mee in Singapore. Highly recommended, and ask for the fatty char siew. You would love it.
