The dry version yong tau foo, featured above, includes teochew fish cake, fish tau kee, fish roll, fried tofu, fishball and luncheon meat. These are served on top a bowl of tossed yellow noodles, with a small bowl of soup and a pair of dipping sauces on the side.

The teochew fish cake has very soft and smooth fish paste with tiny chopped pieces of spring onions and chilli mixed in it. Both fish tau kee and fish roll, have very soft and smooth fish paste as well. The fishball is soft and springy. The fried tofu, containing tiny bits of chopped spring onions and chilli, is firm and smooth with a nice savoury taste. The luncheon meat is just the regular canned type. All the fish paste items has pleasant flavours of fish and are very soft and smooth. They are particularly good!

The yellow noodles is tossed with just oil, and is firm and springy. An optional sweet sauce and chilli sauce are provided as well.

This serving of yong tau food is enjoyable.

The yong yau foo also offers a laksa version. The items selected for the laksa are, flat tau kee, tau kee roll, fried wanton, fried dumpling, fried boiled egg and fish paste tau pok.

The fish paste tau pok contains a very soft and smooth fish paste filling. Both the flat tau kee and tau kee roll are crispy. The fried wanton has a crispy skin warpping a smooth fish paste filling, while the fried dumpling has a vegetables filling. The fried boiled egg has a lightly coated crispy batter. You can request for the items to be re-fried and served in a separate bowl.

As for the laksa, it has nice spicy flavours with undertones of coconut milk. Not bad.
