The Hainan Story
serves a huge range of dishes from meals to cakes and bakes, drinks and toasts. Not bad.

Soft Bun Toasts.

The Hainan Story offers soft bun toasts with various spreads, including some unique ones with rojak jam.
The soft bun has a soft texture and lightly toasted with mildly crispy edges.
The gula melaka kaya has nice sweet gula melaka flavours that contrasts well with either a slice of cheese or thick stab of butter.
The rojak and peanut jam version also has nice flavours of both rojak sauce and peanut butter with grated peanuts.
All three options taste nice.
Half-Boiled Eggs .

The half-boiled eggs are soft and watery. Add your own soya sauce and pepper for seasoning. Likeable.
French Toast.

The french toast is soft with an egg coating and topped with a thick slice of butter. Some sugar syrup is provided on the side. Tastes decent.
Bagel Luncheon Meat & Egg.

The firm-textured bagel sandwiches a slice of luncheon meat with slightly crispy sides, a fried egg with runny yolk, a slice of cucumber and a slice of tomato. Tastes not bad.
Egg Tart.

The egg tart features a cookie crust that is flaky with a nice buttery taste. Its custard filling is soft and not too sweet. Nice.
Swiss Rolls.

The Hainan Story also offers swiss rolls with a range of flavours.
The orh nee swiss roll is soft and fluffy with orh nee flavoured cream. Slightly sweet and tastes nice.
Hainanese Curry Rice.

The Hainan Story serves a variety of hainanese curry rice.
The fried shrimp curry rice comes with fried prawns, egg omelette, yam roll, crispy crackers, a side of vegetables and a serving of rice with curry sauce.
The fried shrimps are springy, coated in a crispy batter. The egg omelette contains some chopped long beans. The yam roll has nice flavours but is no longer crispy. The side of vegetables tastes decent, and the curry sauce has a taste profile with both slightly spicy and slightly sweet flavours. A limey and spicy chilli sauce is also provided on the side.
Overall, the hainanese curry rice tastes decent.
Hainanese Chicken Chop.

The hainaese chicken chop is moist and meaty with a crispy crust, and glazed with a flavourful sweet and sour case with melted cheese. It comes with a side of lightly salted and crispy fries and a serving of salad seasoned with yuzu sauce. The salad features tomato, lettuce and crispy salted egg fish skin. Tastes nice.
Laksa.

The steamed chicken laksa features slices of steamed chicken, fried pork skin, fish cake, boiled egg, tau pok and bean sprouts.
The steamed chicken is tender with a smooth and soft skin attached. The deep fried pork skin is crispy and tastes nice. The fish cake is fairly smooth and soft, and the tau pok is bursting with the laksa gravy’s flavours. The laksa gravy is flavourful and contains bits of dried shrimps. Comes with a dried shrimp flavoured chilli paste.
The laksa is nice!
Fried Chicken Wings.

The fried chicken wing is juicy and coated in a crispy batter, and nice seasoning flavours with a subtle hint of ginger. Enjoyable.
Kopi.

The kopi has a fragrant coffee scent, and is thick and smooth. Tastes nice.
Teh.

The teh is smooth and silky, fairly fragrant and has pleasant tea flavours. It tastes nice too.
Oolong Milk Tea.

The oolong milk tea is served in a small ice bucket. It is sweet with nice tea flavours, and contains so tiny rice balls. It is nice but a bit too sweet for my taste buds.
