Ann Chin Popiah: Popiah

Ann Chin Popiah makes their own popiah skin and rolls them up into popiah. Their popiah contains moist fillings of turnips, carrots, bean sprouts, vegetables, egg and some crispy bits, rolled up in a popiah skin with a garlic and sweet sauce spread. It has a mildly sweet taste and a chewy skin texture. Quite likeable.

Spring Roll

Besides popiah, Ann Chin Popiah also does spring rolls with 3 different fillings. The regular ones come with turnips, carrots and mee hoon wrapped in a chewy fried skin. The yam version replaces turnips with yam bits and the curry version uses a mildly spicy curry potato filling. The fillings tastes fairly nice, but the skin is letdown. The skin is soft and isn’t crispy at all. Personally, I prefer their popiah over their spring rolls.

Kueh Pie Tee

Ann Chin Popiah: Kueh Pie Tee

The kueh pie tee uses a similar filling of turnips, carrots, eggs, crispy bits and sweet sauce as their popiah. The filling tastes decent but the crust is getting soft and isn’t exactly crispy anymore. This is just average to me. Stick with their popiah, it is definitely a safer choice.
