Double Fish Soup

Xian Ji Seafood Soup sells an assortment of seafood and fish soups with the usual selection of noodles or rice. Chosen here is their double fish soup with thick mee hoon and milk added into the soup.

This double fish soup comes with just a pitiful couple slices of sliced fish and a few pieces of fried fish with some vegetables and tomato served in a bowl of soup and thick mee hoon. The sliced fish isn’t smooth at all and is at most quite ordinary. The fried fish has a soft crust that is no longer crispy, and it has a savoury taste that is rather salty.

As for the soup, it is a light clear soup with milk added giving it a cloudy look. There is a slight soury taste to it, that tastes like the milk’s gone bad. The tomato tastes soury as well. It is so bad that I spit it out. Honestly I can’t really tell if it’s the tomato or the milk that is giving off this bad soury taste. Anyway, this tastes like food gone soury and bad. I took a bite of everything for its flavours and left most of it unfinished. Totally inedible. Thumbs down.
