Fried Hokkien Mee

Blue Star Fried Hokkien Mee does fried hokkien mee that comes with prawns and sotong slices. These are wok fried in a mixture of yellow noodles and mee hoon with lard, egg and some bean sprouts in a flavourful broth.

The fried hokkien mee is the wet type. It is flavourful with springy noodles and a mild wok hei taste. The sotong is rather soft and the prawns are decent. Pork lard is crispy too.

Served on the sides are a piece of green lime and a dollop of chilli paste. The chilli is spicy and savoury, however it is too salty for my liking. Personally I think the fried hokkien mee tastes better on its own without the chilli.

This plate of fried hokkien mee actually tastes rather nice. I like it.
