Signature Noodles

Lai Wan Mian Teochew Fishball Noodle serves their signature noodles with a good assortment of ingredients. It comes with fishballs, fishcake slices, braised mushroom slices, minced meat, meatball and abalone slices. Worth mentioning is, there are 3 types of fishballs provided – the regular ones, teochew fishball and fuzhou fishball.

Seen above is with mee pok chosen. It is tossed with a mixture of vinegar and chilli, has a firm and springy texture and topped with spring onions. Tastewise, this mee pok is fairly decent. It comes served with a bowl of nice flavourful soup on the side.

The braised mushroom is soft and tastes decent. The minced meat is soft, meaty and slightly savoury. The meatball is firm with nice meaty flavours, and the sliced abalone is firm and flavourful. As for the fishcake, it is soft and smooth and springy too.

Now for the 3 types of fishballs. Just like the fishcake, the regular fishball is soft, smooth and springy with a nice savoury taste. The teochew fishball has tiny bits of chilli and spring onions added to its fish paste. It is soft and smooth with very nice flavours. The fuzhou fishball contains a meat filling inside its fish paste. The meat filling has nice seasoning flavours of chinese rice wine. All 3 types of fishball are nice and my good rating goes out to them. Extras are highly recommended, especially for the teochew fishball and fuzhou fishball.

This signature mee pok is truly hearty and enjoyable. Good!
