Fried Kway Teow

The fried kway teow has a mixture of kway teow and yellow noodles wok fried in a sweet black sauce with pork lard, some bean sprouts, vegetables and egg. It comes with the usual see hum, lap cheong and fish cake slices.

The see hum is of decent size and tastes decent. The lap cheong is firm and sweet, and the fish cake is soft and springy. The fried kway teow itself has more kway teow than yellow noodles. It is smooth and moist with a firm texture. It is nicely flavoured with a faint note of sweet and tint of garlicky.

This plate of fried kway teow is nice. I like it.

Fried Hokkien Mee

This is the wet type of fried hokkien mee that comes served soaking in a broth. It contains the usual prawns, sotong and pork belly slices in its wok fried mixture of yellow noodles, thick mee hoon, bean sprouts, spring onions and egg.

The prawn is of decent size and tastes decent. The sotong is firm and the pork belly is meaty with some soft fatty parts. The mixture of fried noodles and mee hoon is quite springy and flavourful. A dollop of sweet tasting chilli paste and a piece of green lime is provided on the side. As far as I can tell, there is no pork lard though.

This is a decent plate of fried hokkien mee.

Fried Carrot Cake

The fried carrot cake uses longish cubes of radish cake pan fried with eggs. The white version has a nice crispy egg coating. The black version has sweet black sauce added, giving it a lightly sweet taste. It is served topped with some spring onions.

Both versions of fried carrot cake tastes decent, though I prefer the white ones a tad more.

Fried Oyster Omelette

The fried oyster omelette has a egg and starch mixture that is pan fried with a nice golden crisp with fairly large and plump oysters added. The fried egg is quite crispy and the starchy bits are still chewy. Lots of coriander leaves and spring onions are topped on it. Comes with a limey tasting chilli dip on the side.

This flavourful plate of fried oyster omelette is likeable.
