Hainanese Chicken & Roast Chicken

Leong Yeow Famous Waterloo St Chicken Rice has been selling chicken rice since 1974. This is quite a popular stall offering four options of hainanese chicken, roast chicken, char siew and sui yuk.

There are two options for the chicken. The hainanese chicken is tender and juicy with fairly smooth and soft chicken skin. The roast chicken is moist and meaty with a very nicely flavoured roasted chicken skin. The chicken meats are served on a plate with some cucumber slices and soya sauce seasoning added. Both are nice.

The accompanying plate of rice is quite fragrant. It is firm and fairly flavourful. A bowl of savory tasting vegetable soup is also provided. Chilli sauce is just standard chicken rice garlic chilli sauce. Overall it is a likeable meal.

Char Siew & Siu Yuk

The char siew has tender meat with a sweet taste. Ask for the fatty and charred ones. They are really nice. The siu yuk has nice savour flavours with mildly crispy skin with a rather nice light smokey taste. Comes served with plain white rice topped with a slightly sweet tasting sauce. The char siew and siu yuk are both likeable.
