Fried Mee Hoon.

628 Economic Bee Hoon Nasi Lemak offers a range of fried mee hoon, fried noodles and fried kway teow. As shown above is their fried mee hoon and white kway teow served with a piece of fried chicken wing and teochew fish cake.

The fried chicken wing is meaty and decent flavours, but its batter is mostly soft with just small pockets of crispiness. The teochew fish cake is springy, and contains tiny bits of chilli and spring onions within its decently-flavoured fish paste.

Both the fried mee hoon and white kway teow share a nice dry texture. The fried mee hoon has a savoury and mild sweet taste, while the white kway teow has a savoury taste. The kway teow is slightly oily, and it contains egg, carrot and spring onions. Both are decent options.

Nasi Lemak.

The nasi lemak, as shown above, comes with a fried egg, luncheon meat, teochew fish cake and chilli ikan bilis. A dollop of slightly sweet tasting chilli paste is provided on the side.

The fried egg has a runny yolk with soft whites, the luncheon meat is the regular canned type, and the teochew fish cake is springy with decent flavours. The side of chilli ikan bilis is soft and chewy with a spicy and slightly sweet taste. The serving of rice is fairly fragrant with a subtle hint of coconut milk flavours.

This serving of nasi lemak tastes decent as well.
