Bak Chor Mee

Capitol Bak Chor Mee offers a small selection of minced meat noodles, served either dry or in soup. As shown above, the dry version of their bak chor mee set comes with a couple of prawn rolls. Mee pok is chosen for the noodles used here.

The bak chor mee comes with slices of pork liver, pork meat, minced pork, pork balls and a fried wanton. These are served in a bowl of noodles tossed with vinegar, chilli and crispy pork lard. The mee pok is firm and springy, with a rather flavourful taste. The dish is topped with some chopped spring onions, and a small bowl of flavourful soup is served on the side.

The pork liver is firm and gamey, while the pork slices are soft and meaty. Likewise, the minced pork is soft and meaty too. The pork balls are firm and has a nice meaty taste. The fried wanton has crispy skin and soft meaty filling. The prawn roll has a slightly crispy skin and is filled with nicely flavoured soft meat with some crunchy water chestnut bits.

This serving of bak chor mee mee pok dry is quite decent.
