Ngo Hiang.

Tiong Bahru Ngoh Hiang Prawn Cracker serves various ngo hiang pieces and fried mee hoon as a set. The set includes ngo hiang, fishball, fried tofu, sausage, water chestnut cake and prawn cake, along with a serving of fried mee hoon and a bowl of chilli sauce.

The ngo hiang has a meaty filling that is nicely flavoured. The fishball is soft and smooth, with pleasant fish flavours. The fried tofu is soft, while the sausage is juicy and meaty. The water chestnut cake is crispy outside, soft inside, and has a subtle water chestnut taste. The prawn cake is freshly made on the spot, with a crispy batter containing crunchy bean sprouts.

A small serving of fried mee hoon is provided on the side. The fried mee hoon contains some vegetables and pork lard. It is nicely flavoured, and has a nice dry and springy texture. A bowl of chilli sauce accompanies the dish, which has slightly limey and mild spicy notes. The chilli dip, containing some onion bits, has pairs really well with the various ngo hiang pieces.

This serving of ngo hiang with fried mee hoon is amazingly good. It is probably one of the best ngo hiang in Singapore. Highly recommended!
