Nasi Lemak

Yi Liu Xiang is a hugely popular stall serving nasi lemak with just a small selection available. You can choose to have your nasi lemak with fish, luncheon meat, fish cake or a fried chicken mid-wing, served together with a piece of fish fillet and ikan bilis. For this visit, only the luncheon meat and mid-wing options are left. Above is with luncheon meat, fish fillet, ikan bilis and the mid-wing is an extra add-on. Do note that this nasi lemak is served only in takeout styrofoam boxes even for dining in.

The lucheon meat and fish fillet are both regular stuff you can get from the supermarket. Both are crispy outside and soft inside. Nice. The fried chicken mid-wing has a crispy batter and juicy meat with nice seasoning flavours. Recommended add-on if it is available. The ikan bilis is savoury with a crispy and airy type of crunchiness. As for the rice, it is fairly fragrant and flavourful. Comes served with a dollop of chilli with nice dried shrimp flavours on the side.

This nasi lemak is definitely likeable. It would have been good if more selections are available. Thumbs up.
