Fried Carrot Cake.

The fried carrot cake uses firm cubes of radish cake, pan-fried with eggs and chye poh. The white version is done in a flat pancake style with a rather crispy egg coating. The black version has mild hints of sweetness and smokiness, and contains some crispy bits. Both white and black options are nice, and the fried carrot cake gets a good rating from me.

Fried Hokkien Mee.

The fried hokkien mee features thick mee hoon, yellow noodles and some bean sprouts, wok-fried with egg and pork lard, and simmered in a broth. The dish includes soft sotong slices, and smallish sized prawns that taste decently fresh. The fried hokkien mee has a moist texture and is springy, but it tastes a bit bland. A piece of green lime and a dollop of chilli paste is provided on the side. Although a bit lacking in flavours, this serving of fried hokkien mee is still alright.
