Signature Noodles

Ze Ji Fishball Noodles serves a selection of fishball noodles in both soup and dry versions. Their signature mee pok dry version is shown above. The signature noodles comes with everything included in the soup, featuring fishball, fish cake, teochew fish cake, meatball and fish dumpling.

The fishball is soft, smooth and bouncy. The fish cake is also soft and smooth, with a chewy skin. The teochew fish cake is a bit firmer with tiny bits of chopped spring onions and chilli included in its fish paste. All three of these are a bit rough on the edges as they are handmade and they have a nice fish flavour.

The meatball contains tiny bits of chopped spring onions and chilli too. It is soft and smooth with nice savoury flavours. The fish dumpling has soft skin, wrapping a meaty filling inside and has nice fish flavours.

A bowl of mee pok is served alongside the soup. The mee pok is a bit soft but still fairly springy and has nice seasoning flavours. The noodles is topped with soft and meaty minced meat bits, crispy pork lard, fried shallots and chopped spring onions.

It would have been good if the noodles is a bit firmer, but overall this serving of signature mee pok tastes nice. I like it.
