Wanton Mee

Hougang Ming Ji Wanton Noodle has been selling wanton mee since 1946. This wanton mee comes with a plate of noodles topped with lean meat char siew and a small bowl of wanton soup on the side. The fried wanton are an extra add-on.

The noodles are stirred in a soya sauce based seasoning. It is just a bit springy with fairly decent tastes. The noodles are topped with slices of lean meat char siew which is quite a letdown. The char siew is quite dry and rough. The bowl of soup is lightly flavoured. The wanton dumplings has a soft skin wrapping up juicy meat fillings inside. The fried wanton dumplings are an extra add-on. It is crispy and fluffy with nicely flavoured meat fillings inside. Recommended to have this added.

The like here is actually for the wanton dumplings. Both the soup version and fried ones are likeable. Can probably skip the char siew and order the noodles with just wanton.
