Fried Hokkien Mee

Original Simon Road Hokkien Mee does wet type of fried hokkien mee with broth on its plate. The fried hokkien mee uses a mixture of yellow noodles and mee hoon wok fried with egg, bean sprouts and pork lard and shimmered in a broth. Some prawns, sotong and pork bits are added to it.

The prawns are decent, the sotong is fairly soft and the pork is meaty. The fried mixture of yellow noodles and mee hoon has more mee hoon than noodles. It is soft and quite flavourful. A piece of green lime and 2 types of chilli are provided on the sides. The chilli paste has nice dried shrimp flavours and the chilli sauce has spicy and limey flavours. Both types of chilli mixes well with the flavours of the fried hokkien mee.

This is a nicely flavoured plate of fried hokkien mee, and I rather like it.
