Char Siew, Siu Yuk

Ban Seng Roasted Meat Supplier is a siu mei stall with an assortment of roasted meats. This char siew and siu yuk rice uses fragrant flavoured chicken rice instead of plain white rice. The char siew is the lean meat type, is soft with a slightly sweet taste. Personally I like my char siew fat and charred. Likewise for the siu yuk, it is not the fatty type. The meat is quite tender with a mildly crispy skin and a savoury taste. The chilli paste has nice dried shrimp flavourings and is spicy. Comes with a bowl of nicely flavoured boiled pork and melon soup on the side. This char siew, siu yuk rice is decent.

Chicken Rice

Ban Seng Roasted Meat Supplier does chicken rice as well with 3 types of chicken available: hainanese chicken, soya sauce chicken and roast chicken. Shown above is with all 3 types of chicken plus roast pork.

The hainanese chicken has moist meat and rather smooth skin. Likewise for the soya sauce chicken, moist meat and fairly smooth skin with light tastes of soya sauce. As for the roast chicken, moist chicken meat with nice savoury tasting chicken skin. The chicken meat may not be completely deboned though. The garlic chilli sauce is your usual watery chicken rice chilli. All 3 types of chicken are different in their small little ways. You can be greedy like me and go for all three.
