Bak Chor Wanton Mee

Mei Yun Gan Lao Mian serves different variations of wanton mee. Above is their bak chor wanton mee. This wanton mee comes with the slices of char siew on a plate of tossed noodles topped with minced meat bits, and a bowl of wanton soup.

The char siew is the lean type. It is soft and meaty. The minced meat bits has nice savoury flavourings. The wanton has soft skin wrapping a soft and flavourful meat filling. The soup has nice light flavours. As for the tossed noodles, it is firm and springy with flavours of fried shallot oil and slightly savoury. Some crispy pork lard is included with the noodles. A dollop of slightly limey dried shrimped flavoured cilli paste is provided on the side of the noodles.

This serving of bak chor wanton mee is quite likeable.
