Lor Mee

Singapore Lor Mee sells just lor mee. Their lor mee includes: pork belly slices, ngo hiang slices, half a braised egg, shredded fish meat with thick yellow noodles and bean sprouts served in a bowl of braised sauce.

The pork belly slices are quite a disappointment. Even with fatty parts, it tastes dry and tough with no hints of the moist and tenderness usually associated with pork belly. Likewise for the fish meat, it is quite hard and dry too. The braised egg has slight tastes of braised flavours probably coming from the braised sauce which tastes ordinary. Only the ngo hiang slices are decent, crispy outside and soft inside with fairly nice flavours.

Singapore Lor Mee is definitely not a good representation of lor mee in Singapore. It is at most just an average lor mee. There are much better lor mee located in Tiong Bahru Market itself.
