Ngo Hiang

Xin Sheng Ngoh Hiong Prawn Cracker offers a wide variety of different ngo hiang pieces, as well as fried mee hoon. Shown above is their ngo hiang, crispy prawn cracker, yam roll, fried big prawn, fishball and a plate of fried mee hoon accompanied by 2 dipping sauces.

The ngo hiang has a nice crispy skin with a soft and flavourful filling that has a hint of yam flavours. It is nice. The crispy prawn cracker has a crispy flour batter holding tiny crispy prawns. The yam roll is firm and crispy, and has nice yam flavourings. The fried big prawn has a crispy batter coating a large piece of prawn, and the fishball is soft, smooth and springy with nice savoury tastes of fish. The plate of ngo hiang comes served with a piece of lettuce and some cucumber slices.

The ngo hiang comes with 2 dipping sauces – a limey and spicy tasting chilli sauce that is topped with grated peanuts, and a bowl of slightly salty tasting and starchy sweet sauce. Personally I like the chilli dip with the assorted ngo hiang pieces. As for the plate of fried mee hoon, it contains some bean sprouts and tastes rather likeable.

This serving of ngo hiang is quite a nice one. I like it.
