Satay

Ang Sa Lee Satay grills well marinated satay with a choice of chicken, pork and mutton meats. These skewers of bbq meats are served with slices of cucumbers and onions. An optional ketupat can be added. A side of satay sauce is served alonside the satay.

The chicken satay is well marinated with soft and tender meat. The pork satay is firm and meaty with a hint of sweetness with alternating layers of fat. The mutton satay is also firm and meaty with a sweet seasoning flavour, and is not gamey at all. Both the pork and mutton satay are nicely grilled with a light crisp on the outside. The additional ketupat features compacted rice that is firm and slightly sticky.

The satay sauce, served on the side, is nutty and rich with grated peanuts and pineapple puree. It has a mild tint of spiciness, a hint of sweetness, and a tangy note from the added pineapple puree. This satay sauce is tasty and pairs really well with the satay. Good!
