Lor Mee

Amoy St Lor Mee uses the thicker type of yellow noodles for their lor mee and served with a thick braised sauce that isn’t overly salty. The bowl of lor mee comes with chucks of fried batang fish meat, pieces of ngo hiang, slices of braised pork belly and fried fish nuggets. The half slice of onsen egg is an extra. Some bean sprouts are also added in the yellow noodles.

The fried batang fish meat is moist and soft. The fried ngo hiang pieces are crispy with nice five spices flavours. The fried fish nuggets has a crispy flour batter outside and chewy insides, rather nice. As for the onsen egg, it is nothing like those in Japan but still fairly decent. As for the chilli paste, it has nice dried shrimp flavours and a light sweet taste.

I quite like this bowl of lor mee. Thumbs up.
