Roast Duck, Char Siew & Siu Yuk

Sei Ngan Zai Roasted offers a variety of sui mei meats, including roast duck, char siew, siu yuk and soya sauce chicken served with a choice of rice, noodles or hor fun. Their trio rice, as shown above, features slices roast duck, char siew and siu yuk.

The roast duck is tender and meaty with a note of dang gui flavours. Its skin is juicy and flavourful, and is slightly crispy too. Some sweet plum sauce is added to the roast duck meat. The char siew is firm and meaty, with a sweet taste. The siu yuk has a savoury taste, is firm and meaty with a crispy skin attached. An optional dried shrimp flavoured chilli paste is also provided on the side. All three meat options are rather enjoyable.

Wanton Mee

For this serving of wanton mee, fatty char siew is requested. The char siew is tender and meaty with soft fatty parts, and a nice sweet taste. It definitely tastes better than the regular ones. The char siew slices are placed atop a plate of tossed noodlesm which is firm and springy. The noodles is tossed with crispy pork lard and a nicely flavoured seasoning sauce.. The wanton dumpling has a soft skin wrapping a soft meaty filling with small bits of prawn meat. It has a nice savoury taste. A bowl of vegetables flavoured soup accompanies the plate of noodles, and an optional dried shrimp flavoured chilli paste is also provided on the side.

This serving of wanton mee is nice, especially when served with slices of fatty char siew. I like it!

Ipoh Hor Fun

The ipoh hor fun is served with slices of boneless soya sauce chicken. The chicken is tender and its skin is smooth and flavourful. The hor fun is quite smooth and tossed in a slightly sweet tasting seasoning sauce. It comes with a couple of wanton dumplings as well. This serving of ipoh hor fun is enjoyable too.
