Black Kway Teow Goreng
Instead of the usual red tinted fried kway teow that comes from added ketchup sauce, this is the black version of kway teow goreng which uses black soya sauce.
This plate of kway teow goreng comes with bits of potato and tomato, cut green chili, veg and onions, wok fried with bean sprouts and egg with chunks of mutton bits added and served with cucumber slices. The fried kway teow is spicy and tastes decent, and the chunks of mutton meat are a bit gamey but quite tender and soft.
Mee Hoon Goreng Ikan Bilis
The mee hoon goreng ikan bilis replaces the mutton bits with ikan bilis. The ikan bilis has a nice savoury taste but is soft and no longer crispy and crunchy. The fried mee hoon has a nice dry texture is savoury tasting with slight peppery flavours. A little bit on the salty side though, but still decent.
