Wanton Mee

Tong Sheng Mian Jia serves wanton mee with slices of char siew and fried wanton. The soup wanton is unfortunately sold out at time of visit.

The char siew is firm and meaty with a nice sweet taste. The fried wanton has crispy skin with a meaty filling. The firm and springy noodles is tossed with pork lard and has nice seasoning flavours. A bowl of nicely flavoured soup is served on the side.

This serving of wanton mee is rather nice.

Wanton Laksa

Tong Sheng Mian Jia serves laksa as well, with choice of noodles or mee hoon. Seen above is their wanton laksa combo with yellow noodles. It is a combo of laksa and wanton mee. The usual see hum, fish cake slices, tau pok comes from the laksa side, and the slices of char siew and boiled wanton comes from the wanton mee side.

The yellow noodles comes with some bean sprouts served in a bowl of flavourful laksa gravy that is not spicy. The see hum is fairly decent sized and tastes fairly fresh. The fish cake is soft, smooth and springy. The tau pok is soft and has nice flavours of the laksa gravy. The char siew is firm and meaty with a nice sweet taste, and the wanton has soft skin with a meaty filling. Comes with a dollop of dried shrimped flavoured chilli paste that is spicy and savoury.

This bowl of wanton laksa is rather nice and likeable. Recommended.
